It doesn’t take much to make 21-year-old model Alexandria Morgan happy. Give her a Shake Shack burger (with plenty of condiments) or a ticket to a Chicago Cubs game, and she’ll be just fine.
The Illinois native, who moved to New York in 2012 to study journalism at a small liberal arts school, got scouted last year and has most recently lent her bombshell looks to Guess ad campaigns. But when she’s not glammed up (and documenting it on her active Instagram account), she says she’s strictly a jeans-and-T-shirt kind of gal.
Tell me about your look.
My goal in life is to remain comfortable. I’m definitely not a heels girl, unless I have to wear them for work. I’m in simple jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers, that’s it.
Who or what do you look to for inspiration, fashion-wise?
For style inspo, I love the look of the late ’90s/early 2000s movies, like the ones with Freddie Prinze, Jr. Low-riding jeans, Sketchers—it’s just so simple and cute. I love Stevie Nicks; I’m borderline obsessed. I also love Cindy Crawford in that Pepsi commercial—it’s goals for life. And the ’90s Guess ads are great for beauty inspo.
What do you like about New York City style?
Lots of black leather jackets. It’ll be 90 degrees outside, and there will still be people wearing leather jackets. I feel like that’s so very New York. And they usually have iced coffee in their hands.
What are some of your favorite places to hang out in New York?
I love thrifting; that’s like my favorite thing to do. The East Village has a lot of really great thrift shops and so does Williamsburg. L Train Vintage in the East Village has lots of good, old Levi’s and jeans. Eating-wise, I’m a Shake Shack addict. Burgers and fries, and I’m a happy girl.

Alexandria Morgan is Really Really Ridiculously Good at Taking Selfies
BY JOHN JANNUZZI
We find ourselves scrolling through Instagram fairly often—in the checkout line at the grocery store, riding the train, at weddings, whenever we get a free moment, really. And every so often, we like to shout out those Instagrammers we particularly like. Here, we give you Alexandria Morgan, an expert selfie taker with a sense of humor, and the face of Guess. Follow her here.
How are you feeling today?
Happy, but a little sniffly. I’m so excited about spring here in Manhattan but, unfortunately, me and seasonal allergies have a long history together.
What are you wearing?
I’m headed to the gym and wearing my favorite pair of yoga pants from VS Pink and an oversized Chicago Cubs shirt I’ve had forever.
What’s the one thing you most want to do before you die?
I want to live on a farm with lots of dogs and lots of cats!
What’s the most ridiculous selfie you ever took?
All the ridiculous selfies are most definitely sent to my close friends on SnapChat and most definitely saved for blackmail.
Your social media pet peeve?
Subtweeting. I’m a very open person and I believe if you’ve got beef with someone, be upfront about it or keep it to yourself.
What’s the last song you listened to?
“Edge of Seventeen” by Stevie Nicks.
What’s your most prized possession?
It’s a small cigar box I bought at a garage sale for like, fifty cents. But I keep little life momentos in it. For example, a ticket from the carnival where I had my first kiss, a note my mom left in my lunch one day in eight grade (“Do your best, smile, and enjoy your fruit roll up!”), my first lotto ticket I bought when I turned 18 (although, I didn’t win anything), stuff like that. I’m very sentimental.
What is your mantra? (If you don’t have one, make one up. We’ll wait.)
Whatever will be, will be.
Where have you never been but want to go?
I’d love to go to Montana, maybe go camping. All that open land, raw nature, and visible stars at night; I can definitely get behind that.
Have a favorite YouTube video?
This is a hard one. Probably the “boom goes the dynamite” video. It’s a classic.
Who was your favorite Batman?
I’d have to go with Christian Bale because he was the one I grew up with, and “The Dark Night Rises” is one of my favorite movies.
